The History Troupe and the Yorkshire Film Archive are delighted to announce the launch of Memory Bank: Hull – a new reminiscence resource based on Hull’s film heritage collections, revealed once more for everyone to see and enjoy.

Memory Bank: Hull was created in conjunction with healthcare professionals, carers and families, to provide a complete resource for reminiscence and life story work. The packs are all about using archive footage of familiar faces, places, events and everyday lives to re-discover and connect with our collective shared memories.

For people of Hull that means films of the docks and the fishing industry, summer days spent in East Park getting drenched on the splash boat, reliving the drama of the 1980 Rugby Challenge Cup Final between Hull FC and Hull KR, and – of course – a visit to the famous Hull Fair. All this and more!

Memory Bank: Hull provides a wealth of information to support reminiscence, designed to be flexible in a variety of settings – it is now available to purchase below for £29.99

Quotes from users of Memory Bank: Hull:

I am really delighted with the Memory Bank: Hull pack. The scene with the traditional coach built pram brought back a lot of memories. The carer called out at certain shops and told us little stories and this really added to our screening.
— Sarah, Care home Activities Coordinator
